N-up PDF printing guide
Reduce paper use by arranging two, four or six PDF pages on a single output sheet. Choose paper size, orientation and margins, then confirm the reading order and final text size. N-up layouts are useful for class handouts, draft review copies and workshop notes where a compact printable document is more important than full-size original pages.
Before you start
Keep an unchanged copy of the original PDF. Use a clear file name and check that the selected files belong to this job. Use an unencrypted PDF and open it before processing to confirm that the pages display correctly.
Work on a device with enough free memory for the job. A small sample is a useful first check, especially on a phone or when the source contains many pages or high-resolution photographs. Keep other large processing tabs closed while generating the result.
Steps and settings
- Choose a PDF.
- Select two, four or six pages per sheet and set paper orientation.
- Create the arranged PDF and print one output page per sheet.
Use the settings shown in the workspace for this task. Recheck the file order and measurements before starting. If you change an input or setting after a result is generated, create a fresh output so the downloaded file matches the choices currently displayed.
Processing details
Source pages are embedded proportionally into a grid of cells on new PDF pages. The original reading order is retained across the grid and subsequent sheets.
Processing stays on your device, without an account, API subscription or document upload. Book centers, freelancers and developers can use the website free of charge; prepare its resources while online before working offline. The current installed app and extension have a separate release schedule.
Result checks
- Open the actual downloaded result and compare it with the source or entered details.
- Check the first and final pages, ordering, borders and any fine text, numbers or stamps.
- Print a single test sheet before a large job. Choose actual size or 100% when physical measurements matter.
- Keep the original input until the customer or intended reader has accepted the result.
Practical limits
Small original text becomes smaller when several pages share one sheet. Review the output at print size and avoid a second N-up setting in the printer driver.
A PDF edit can invalidate an existing digital signature. Image-based PDF output can remove selectable text, interactive fields and links. Use the original when its editable or interactive features must be preserved.
Offline preparation and app availability
Prepare the website resources from Help while the connection is available and wait for the ready status. Tools that use OCR or a Nastaliq font require an additional optional resource download. HEIC decoding is included in the main website resource pack. Test the required workflow after disabling the connection; browser storage can be cleared or evicted later.
Adding the site to a phone’s Home Screen creates convenient access and does not itself prepare every resource. The existing Microsoft Store app and Edge extension contain the original four PDF tools. This Book Center website tool needs a separate installed-package release before it appears in those apps.
N-up PDF printing answers
Avoiding double layout
The downloaded PDF already contains multiple original pages on each output page. Print it with the printer driver set to one PDF page per sheet.
Price and account requirements
This website tool is 100% free. No login, subscription or paid conversion tier is required. Your device supplies the processing memory.
Files and privacy
Input documents and generated results are handled locally. They are not sent to a QBMFX conversion API or stored in a customer database. Website hosting and advertising can still make separate network requests.
Offline preparation
Prepare the website resources from Help while connected, then test the required tool offline. OCR and Urdu text tools also need their optional language or font resources prepared first. Browser storage can be removed by the browser or by you.
Windows app and Edge extension
The existing installed app and extension contain the original four PDF tools. These new Book Center tools belong to the website release; they will need a separate installed-package update.
