Batch scan workflow guide

Prepare a batch of book-center scans with a repeatable sequence: enhance, crop and deskew, resize, assemble the PDF and optionally add a text stamp. Turn individual steps off when the original scan already looks correct. Review the final result before printing; automatic crop and strong contrast can remove faint writing or edge notes.

Before you start

Keep an unchanged copy of the original images. Use a clear file name and check that the selected files belong to this job. A sharp, evenly lit image preserves more usable detail than a heavily blurred or cropped photo.

Work on a device with enough free memory for the job. A small sample is a useful first check, especially on a phone or when the source contains many pages or high-resolution photographs. Keep other large processing tabs closed while generating the result.

Steps and settings

  1. Choose scans in reading order.
  2. Enable the processing steps, choose size and resolution, and optionally enter a stamp.
  3. Create a combined PDF or separate PDFs, then check all page edges and text.

Use the settings shown in the workspace for this task. Recheck the file order and measurements before starting. If you change an input or setting after a result is generated, create a fresh output so the downloaded file matches the choices currently displayed.

Named paper includes A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal, Folio (8.5 × 13 inches) and ISO B5 where paper layout applies. Custom dimensions are millimetres; choose the matching orientation. DPI controls image sampling, not a guarantee of new source detail.

Processing details

Each scan passes through enabled local pixel transformations in order. The processed images become measured PDF pages, then the optional stamp is drawn on the PDF. Intermediate files remain in browser memory and are not stored in a customer database.

Processing stays on your device, without an account, API subscription or document upload. Book centers, freelancers and developers can use the website free of charge; prepare its resources while online before working offline. The current installed app and extension have a separate release schedule.

Result checks

  • Open the actual downloaded result and compare it with the source or entered details.
  • Check the first and final pages, ordering, borders and any fine text, numbers or stamps.
  • Print a single test sheet before a large job. Choose actual size or 100% when physical measurements matter.
  • Keep the original input until the customer or intended reader has accepted the result.

Practical limits

Up to 20 scans and 96 megapixels combined. Intermediate images are bounded to 100 MiB. Automatic correction requires inspection and does not recover missing text.

A PDF edit can invalidate an existing digital signature. Image-based PDF output can remove selectable text, interactive fields and links. Use the original when its editable or interactive features must be preserved.

Offline preparation and app availability

Prepare the website resources from Help while the connection is available and wait for the ready status. Tools that use OCR or a Nastaliq font require an additional optional resource download. HEIC decoding is included in the main website resource pack. Test the required workflow after disabling the connection; browser storage can be cleared or evicted later.

Adding the site to a phone’s Home Screen creates convenient access and does not itself prepare every resource. The existing Microsoft Store app and Edge extension contain the original four PDF tools. This Book Center website tool needs a separate installed-package release before it appears in those apps.

Batch scan workflow answers

Batch result checks

Compare faint handwriting, stamps and page edges with the originals. Disable automatic cropping or enhancement when it removes useful detail.

Price and account requirements

This website tool is 100% free. No login, subscription or paid conversion tier is required. Your device supplies the processing memory.

Optional cloud imports

Google Drive and Dropbox are optional online imports. They require provider sign-in and configuration, have provider quotas and offer cancellation. Local Choose files works without sign-in. Imported file bytes download directly to your browser for local processing.

Files and privacy

Input documents and generated results are handled locally. They are not sent to a QBMFX conversion API or stored in a customer database. Website hosting and advertising can still make separate network requests.

Offline preparation

Prepare the website resources from Help while connected, then test the required tool offline. OCR and Urdu text tools also need their optional language or font resources prepared first. Browser storage can be removed by the browser or by you.

Windows app and Edge extension

The existing installed app and extension contain the original four PDF tools. These new Book Center tools belong to the website release; they will need a separate installed-package update.
